The Sacrament of Confession/Reconciliation is available before and after Mass on weekdays and Saturdays.

ADORATION BEFORE WEEKDAY MASSES

There is Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament before the weekday masses at St Mary Mother of God Church, 9:00am and at Saints Peter and Pauls Church 9:30am. Interested Parishioners are welcome to the Adoration.

:Poverty in our Community: People are facing further steep rise in the cost of living. These will hit hardest those who are already struggling. CSAN (caritas Social Action Agency of the Catholic Church in England and Wales) has published a short information resource to explain the Catholic Church’s teaching on poverty, and to invite a deeper response to it within the life of local Communities invites us to SEE, JUDGE and ACT. 7th Petition of the Lord’s Prayer, (But Deliver us From Evil)

Clearly tide to the 6th Petition prayer, in this final petition we are asking God to protect us from Evil. The Catechism teaches that the “EVIL” in this petition is not abstract Evil, but actually (Refers to a person) Satan the Evil One the angel who opposes God (ccc 2851) while we acknowledge the reality of the Devil we place are trust in Christ and his definitive victory over Evil on the Cross. Amen

(Sixth Petition of the Lord’s prayer.) LEAD US NOT INTO TEMPTATION.

Some People wonder why we would ask God not to lead us into temptation. The letter of St James clearly says that God does not tempt us with evil (James 1:13)

Therefore in this petition we are asking God not to take the path that leads to sin. We are praying to avoid the near occasion of sin. Amen.
